BALTIMORE, MD (Saturday, August 19, 2023) - Today, Mayor Brandon M. Scott and City Officials joined families and community members for the annual Back-to-School Rally, a citywide opportunity aimed at ushering in the new school year with enthusiasm and support for our students and educators.

“Our annual Back-to-School Rally is a symbol of our City’s commitment to providing our students everything they need to be successful heading into a new school year,” said Mayor Brandon M. Scott. “Over the past few years, we’ve made historic investments in City Schools, but our support isn’t just limited to the classroom. This event is not only about preparing students for the academic year ahead, but also about fostering a sense of unity and community that will help our young people thrive.”

In collaboration with the Mayor’s Office of Children and Family Success, this year’s Back-to-School Rally drew in hundreds of attendees and created an atmosphere of excitement and unity. The event was a celebration of education and an opportunity for families, students, and educators to come together prior to another year of learning and growth.

The event featured a range of engaging activities and offered families free school supplies, entertainment and performances, information booths, workshops, and health and wellness activities. The Back-to-School Rally reflects the City’s dedication to providing students with the tools and resources needed to excel in their studies and become future leaders.\

"The Mayor’s Office of Children and Family success is always looking for ways to provide resources and opportunities for children and families in the City of Baltimore," said Executive Director of the Mayor's Office of Children and Family Success Dr. Debra Y. Brooks. "The Mayor’s Back to School Kick-Off is not only a fun event for the whole family but an opportunity to ensure families are connected with the many services the City provides. From elder services to mental health information, there is something for everyone. We are proud to support our future leaders and their families to help them #BmoreReadyForSchool."

The Annual Back-to-School Rally not only equips City school students with the tools they need to excel academically, but also reinforces the strong sense of unity and support that defines our City.
